MedTech Trends in Design, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Sustainability

The 2024 MiniTec will be held February 5th & 6th, (Mon & Tue) in the Anaheim Convention Center concurrent with the 2024 MD&M West/IME Expo & Conference.

Papers related to the following will be taken into strong consideration:

  • Advanced polymer materials for enabling new device and packaging technologies, including smart, self-healing, bioinspired, and antimicrobial medical plastics
  • Innovations in polymer processing and device manufacturing
  • Testing and validation of medical plastics in the context of evolving standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 10993 updates, MDR, PFAS regulations)
  • Personalization in materials, manufacturing, devices, and measurements (e.g., delivery & diagnostics)
  • Additive manufacturing in medical devices, including 3D and “4D” printing
  • Interactions between medical plastics and sterilization methods in the context of evolving regulations (e.g., ethylene oxide limitations)
  • Sustainability in healthcare materials and manufacturing, and design considerations for balancing safety, convenience, and the product lifecycle, including single use technologies and plastic reprocessing
  • Development of hybrid devices to reduce the amount of single use plastic waste and end-of-life responsibilities of OEMs
  • Materials & technologies for use in the rapidly emerging role of telehealth and telemedicine in healthcare
  • Digital, connectivity, and AI trends in healthcare
  • Plastics used in the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals
  • Materials & technologies critical for next generation medicines & therapeutic delivery systems
  • Polymers used for the controlled release of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients
  • Other emerging materials & technologies in healthcare and medical device
  • Next generation medical devices & therapeutic delivery systems (early and disruptive innovations — new products coming to market)
